"GE's legacy of invention, quality and reliability—and our vast range of products—are assets to our retail customers," says Maryrose Sylvester, President and CEO of GE Lighting. "John's new role positions GE to better help retailers think strategically about lighting. His passion and competitiveness will help retail customers move with greater agility as they push to educate consumers and drive up sales in a lighting aisle that's increasingly difficult to navigate."
Strainic has been General Manager of Global Lighting Product Management since April 2007. In this role he was responsible for all global lighting strategy, including product development and capacity planning.
"Leading this business as we help consumers save money through the variety of energy-efficient choices available for their lighting options makes this an extremely exciting time," said John Strainic, GM, North America Consumer Lighting, GE Lighting. "GE Lighting's more than 130 years of experience makes it uniquely qualified to lead in this shift from incandescent light bulbs and assist consumers as they prepare to make short and long-term decisions during this period of technical and industry transformation."
Strainic is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
