Sonoco Alloyd, an arm of global packaging company Sonoco, has developed a new dispensable packaging system integrated with thermoformed technology.
The new DivvyPack allows easy dispensing of product and convenient storage of unused portions for multi-count packages.
The pack has a sliding lid that does not open completely, making it easy to dispense a singular product from a multi-product package, the company said.
Its interlocking channels along the sides of the sliding lid and tray allows easy opening and reclosing of the package, with an audible snap when locking closed.
The DivvyPack's flat lid, clear packaging and customizable shape and size provide several options for marketing.
Sonoco Alloyd marketing specialist Kim Goyke said: "Our newest packaging innovation is the result of intense insight gathering, developmental ideation and market interaction so we can provide our customers with a differentiated competitive advantage that will better their brands.
"This purpose-driven packaging meets the unique needs of customers in a wide variety of markets."
Sonoco Alloyd's DivvyPack, which is also ideal for club store packaging and gift-with-purchase promotions, will be presented at Pack Expo 2015 tradeshow in Las Vegas.
Earlier in August this year, the blister packaging machines manufacturer Sonoco Alloyd announced plans to integrate robots manufactured by Rethink Robotics into its sealing machines system to offer complete automation to its customers.
The company will market the sealing systems that will integrate Rethink's Baxter and Sawyer robots.
