UK-based cardboard box and packaging manufacturer Jaffabox has invested to install additional equipment at its box manufacturing plant located near Birmingham International Airport.
The firm invested multi-million pound in a new casemaker, MHI Evol 100, which was installed at the site to improve throughput and quality at the site.
Jaffabox said that the newly installed system is expected to offer higher volumes, higher quality print and closer folding accuracy to its customers.
Additional equipment installed at the facility include a Corrpal high speed automatic palletiser, Alliance prefeeder, and a new Mosca Uatri bundle tying machine as well as a second Mosca pallet press and a new Avanti material handling system.
Jaffabox technical director John Amyes said: "About 18 months ago we decided that our existing casemakers needed to be replaced. Although they were still producing good quality boxes, they were showing their age in terms of throughput speeds. So we set out to install the fastest and highest quality casemaker available."
"it became clear to us that the MHI Evol 100 met all our specifications and gave us confidence as a long term investment.
“It is one of the fastest of its type in the world and its speed, combined with the quality of the boxes it can produce, means Jaffabox can meet higher volume requirements and remain at the forefront in the current trends for ever higher quality print and more accurate folds."
Recently, the company has installed a BHS corrugators at the facility to offer higher volume requirements for its customers.
The company has also added an additional space of 40,000ft² to its existing box making facility in the UK in order to make room for the newly completed investments.
