The Jim Henson Company has revealed the first product images of a new board game inspired by the cult 1986 movie, Labyrinth.
The game has been released as part of the firm’s wider 30th anniversary celebrations of the hit film starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly.
Developed by River Horse, the game features the likeness of the film’s main characters in a series of five crafted miniatures including Bowie’s Goblin King, Jareth, Connelly’s Sarah, Hoggle, Ludo and Didymus atop his loyal steed, Ambrosius.
Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: The Board Game is scheduled to debut at retailers across the US this summer.
The game joins a swathe of recent activity for Labyrinth in celebration of the film’s 30th anniversary, including new apparel and figurines partners across the US, Canada and the UK.
“Labyrinth’s dedicated fan base continues to grow year after year and with the 30th anniversary celebration gathering steam, we are seeing consumer demand for new products and an increase in sales,” said Federico San Martin, vice president, global consumer products at The Jim Henson Company.
“Today’s fans, both young and old, will be able to extend their Labyrinth experience with the array of new products available at retail this year.”
