US-based Samsung Electronics America has announced the launch of its Samsung UGEO PT60A, a tablet-based ultrasound system designed to satisfy all applications in the point-of-care market.
The Samsung UGEO PT60A includes a full 10.1 inch LED touch-screen monitor, Needle Mate, SDMR, and SCI.
Needle Mate is for precise identification of the needle's location, SDMR provides clearer imaging with a noise reduction filter, and SCI delivers remarkable spatial and contrast resolution.
The US Food and Drug Administration has granted 510(k) clearance for the Samsung UGEO PT60A in August 2013 and the device completed its domestic product review in September 2013.
Samsung's Health & Medical Equipment unit director of sales Brian Keith noted the company is excited to launch the Samsung UGEO PT60A ultrasound system, which is uniquely engineered to meet the evergrowing needs of the portable healthcare market.
"This system underscores our continued commitment to introducing increased innovation to the healthcare market through our health and medical business unit," Keith added.
The one-touch measurement features of the UGEO PT60A system will help in delivering the results with maximum efficiency.
Providers can make critical decisions more easily with the system's Auto IMT and quick diagnosis report and the device can also help sports medicine specialists to quickly examine injuries.
Samsung Electronics will showcase the UGEO PT60A ultrasound system at this week's American Society of Anesthesiology annual meeting at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
