Michigan-based thermoplastics distributor Chase Plastics has broke ground for a new distribution center at South Bend, Indiana.
Construction work will start tomorrow, and the plant is scheduled to become fully operational by December.
Chase will invest $4m in the 125,000ft2 facility, which will have an expanded bulk storage space, and enhanced loading dock capacity.
The facility will have wireless warehousing based on fiber optic infrastructure.
The firm plans to add 13 full-time employees by 2025.
Chase Plastics business process manager Bob Hoff said: "Expanding our distribution operation in South Bend will allow us to continue to enhance our ability to provide outrageous service and the latest shipping cut-off times available while ensuring next-day delivery to our customers.

Chase Plastics has collaborated with Abonmarche Consultants, Creative Design Solutions, Holladay Construction and Comerica Bank for the construction of the new warehouse.
