There Is No Ferrous Scrap From Georgia to Turkey in The First Quarter of This Year

According to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the first quarter of this year, there is no ferrous scrap among the most exported products from Georgia to Turkey, the country's main trading partner. Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey have been declining on a cumulative basis since the second half of 2011.

However, Georgia exported 10,041 mt of semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel to Turkey in the first quarter of this year, with a value of $4.85 million, with no record of exports of the products in question to Turkey in the same period of 2012.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter of the current year ferroalloys were not included either among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, while in the January-February period of the current year Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey were down to 1,644 mt from 5,505 mt in January-February 2012.
