The IG Game Awards is seeking out the best in family and educational games and is now open for entries into its third consecutive ceremony this year.
With the remit of finding and promoting the ‘very best educational and family orientated’ board and card games available in the UK market, entries to the awards will close on Friday, April 24th.
Funded by Imagination Gaming, the entrants will be shortlisted by a panel of experienced, educational professionals and family game enthusiasts and will cover seven categories.
To be considered, games will not have to necessarily be designed for education, with previous years’ submissions covering a wide spectrum of titles from tabletop ‘geeky gamer’ types to skill-focused titles for children and adults alike.
“These are exactly the games that Imagination Gaming uses to engage, enthuse, educate and promote interaction with crucial social and curriculum based life skills,” read a statement from the team.
“There is no substitute for great content, mechanics and design, and the awards will recognise this.”
This year’s awards will be supported by a dedicated website and curated social media conversation, aimed at driving awareness.
All shortlisted titles will feature in Imagination Gaming’s hands-on Family Zone hall at this year’s UK Games Expo, running from May 29th to 31st. Winners will be announced in early June.
