Coca-Cola HBC has invested €7m to upgrade to its bottling plant in Timisoara, Romania.
The high-speed bottling line, compatible with 330ml and 500ml formats, will enable the company to reach a capacity of 90,000 bottles an hour.
Increase in bottling will help the company in expanding its plans for growth not only in the Romanian market in the short run, but also the European market in the long run.
Coca-Cola HBC Romania general manager Jaak Mikke said: "We are committed to investing further, Romania is a very important market within the Coca-Cola HBC Group, and we are very excited about what's coming next."
The company is present on the Romanian market since over 25 years.
The factory started its operations in 1995 and presently bottles a range of soft-drinks including Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Schweppes, Nestea and Joy products. These products are sold across Romania, except for Joy.
The bottling plant in Timi?oara is considered to be one of the most energy efficient bottling lines and is also claimed to be using lowest water consumption per litre of beverage produced.
Coca-Cola started its operations in Romania back in 1991 and presently employs 1700 people. Apart from Timisoara plant, Coca-Cola has two other plants in the country.
