Finnish timber exporters managed to raise their softwood lumber and planed product exports in August 2011 by 9% against the same month last year to a total of approximately 355, 000 m³ (August 2010: 326, 000 m³). Here, growth was registered in deliveries to European buyers as well as to buyers outside Europe. With an increase by 21% to 182, 000 m³ (150, 000 m³), however, growth in the softwood lumber exports outside Europe was a great deal higher than in the exporters to buyers within Europe, which only rose by 5% to 173, 000 m³ (165, 000 m³).
