MW Canada Relies on OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certification

MW Canada Ltd., a leading manufacturer of engineered materials for the window covering and specialty fabric markets, relies on OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification to ensure that their textiles are tested to be free from more than 300 harmful chemicals such as pesticides, heavy metals, formaldehyde, carcinogenic dyestuffs, and residual surfactants.

“OEKO-TEX certification is an assurance we give our customers that our products are safe for their clients and for their employees,” says Bob Berger, President of MW Canada. “OEKO-TEX certification is also an investment we make to provide our employees with a cleaner working environment as well.”

MW Canada’s long-term investment in its workforce is a strategy that has benefited the company and fueled its evolution from a conventional textile mill to the specialty innovator that it is today. Employee training and enrichment, R&D commitments, and outside partnerships with universities all combine to create a stimulating working environment that yields innovative, differentiated products.

“We don’t think of our products as just textiles any longer,” continues Berger. “We think of them as engineered materials that provide solutions and unique benefits to our customers. OEKO-TEX certification is a distinct value-added benefit.”
