The Majority of Central European Gluelam Beam Manufacturers Starte to Give Notification

Since the middle of March and on a wave of general growth in demand, the majority of central European gluelam beam manufacturers have started to give their respective customers notification of forthcoming price increases. However, in terms of timing of the implementation and also the absolute scale of the mark-ups, greater differences exist between the appropriate announcements this year than has been the case in the past. Depending on the manufacturer, the new prices are to apply for orders as from the beginning, middle, or even end of April. Correlation exists to a large extent here, however, in that deliveries as from 2 May are only to be made on the basis of the new prices. For this reason buyers and manufacturers in Germany are expecting this first round of price increases to ultimately stretch until the early days of May. The bulk of the announcements are for mark-ups to the tune of €15-20/m³, sometimes up to €25/m³.
