General Motors is recalling Chevrolet Spark vehicles due to issues with the secondary hood latch.
The company said that the secondary hood latch may corrode, resulting the striker to get stuck out of position, which would prevent it from properly engaging the hood latch.
The improper engagement of the hood latch could open the hood unexpectedly, which might lead to a crash.
GM has notified about the issue to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety, and the company will be notifying owners. Dealers will replace the faulty part with new one for free.
Apart from Chevrolet Spark, the company has also recalled around 290,241 units of Cadillac SRX and SAAB 9-4X due to issues with jam nut in the rear suspension toe adjuster link.
