Aquatech has won the contract to design and supply a produced water evaporator system for Pengrowth Lindbergh Energy Corp’s SAGD facility in the Cold Lake region of Alberta, Canada.
Designed using Aquatech’s patented High Efficiency Evaporation process (HEVAP), the system will treat produced water to provide high quality boiler feedwater that will be converted into steam to be injected into the reservoir as part of the SAGD thermal process for oil extraction.
The Aquatech system will be shipped by the first quarter of 2014 with expected commissioning and start-up to be completed by the end of 2014. “This is a great win for Aquatech as we continue to penetrate this key market. The selected HEVAP process for this system provides a significant increased level of operational reliability and availability, which are key requirements in any SAGD facility. We are pleased that Pengrowth has selected our patented process for their project as we view the oil sands market as having a large potential for this type of system,” said Alan Daza, vice president of sales & business development for Aquatech’s Infrastructure and Major Projects division.
