Russia's Ferrous Metal Export Volume Increased by 44.3 Percent Year on Year

In the first quarter this year, Russia's ferrous metal export volume increased by 44.3 percent year on year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat). In terms of value, the exports rose by 32.6 percent year on year.

Exports to non-CIS countries increased by more than half (51.6 percent) in volume and by 45.5 percent in value terms. Volumes of supplies to CIS countries increased by 11.1 percent. In volume terms, exports of ferroalloys increased by 13.8 percent, exports of coal rose by 12.6 percent, while exports of semi-finished goods decreased by 8.7 percent and exports of ores and concentrates moved down by 11 percent.
