German luxury-car maker BMW has launched the new 3-Series sedan in India, which is being offered in petrol (BMW 328i) and diesel (BMW 320d) powertrain option.
The new BMW 3 Series is being offered in two design schemes which include Sport Line, which features sporty styling and interiors and Luxury Line includes luxurious features.
The BMW 328i is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine which generates a power of 245PS and accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 6.1 seconds which offering a top speed of 250 km/hr.
Powered by the new 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, the new BMW 320d generates 184PS of power and 380Nm of torque, while it can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 235 km/h.
Both the engines are mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission which allows the sedan to perform smooth gear shifts.
Features of the new sedan include auto start-stop, ECO PRO mode, brake-energy regeneration, intelligent lightweight construction, electronic power steering and 50:50 weight distribution.
BMW 3 Series is manufactured at the carmaker's facility in Chennai and the deliveries are expected to begin in India from this month onwards.
Price for the new BMW 320d sedan ranges between INR 2.89m ($52 077) to INR3.69m (66 493.8) and the 328i Sport Line is priced at 3.79m ($68 295).
