The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) published the twelfth edition of the AAFA Restricted Substances List (RSL), covering apparel, footwear, and home textiles. The updated RSL was released in preparation for the 2013 International Sourcing, Customs & Logistics Conference in Baltimore, MD.
The list, which has evolved into one of the most popular and frequently referenced industry assets provided by AAFA, can be downloaded for free at the AAFA website along with a growing set of other chemical management tools and state-specific guidance.
“AAFA remains committed to providing the U.S. apparel and footwear industry with a variety of tools to help make sound sourcing decisions,” said AAFA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “Now in its twelfth publication, the AAFA Restricted Substances List assists the industry in creating an even safer and more sustainable supply chain.”

This twelfth edition of the AAFA RSL will also be featured at AAFA’s forthcoming domestic Product Safety and Sustainability Seminar & Exhibition on May 14, 2012, in Long Beach, CA. Additional updated translations of the AAFA RSL will be made available on AAFA’s website and continue to serve as valuable resources for the U.S. apparel and footwear industry.
