Nordson has agreed to acquire Constructiewerkhuizen G. Verbruggen, a company based in Belgium that produces flat dies and coextrusion equipment for makers of multilayer flexible packaging. Nordson did not say what it paid for Verbruggen, though it estimated that the company will have current year sales of about $11m (€ 7.6m). It employs about 40 and will operate as part of Nordson's Adhesive Dispensing Systems segment. Nordson expects the acquisition to be neutral to the company's earnings in the first full year of operation. "Verbruggen provides Nordson an excellent entry into the flexible packaging market, and it is a natural complement to our existing leadership position in rigid packaging applications, " Nordson president and CEO Michael F. Hilton said in a statement. Nordson is a producer of automated spraying and dispensing equipment. Source: European Plastics News
