AOG Won The Award for Best Trade Show Over 10,000m2

The Australasian Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition (AOG) has claimed one of the exhibition industry’s top honours, winning the award for Best Trade Show Over 10,000m2 for the fourth year at this week’s Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) Awards for Excellence.

AOG competed against Australasia’s leading trade shows including Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition and the Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) to claim the award at the gala event in Sydney, which recognised outstanding achievement and leadership in the exhibition and events industry.

Event Director, Bill Hare said the award was a fantastic end to the year and looks forward to drawing record numbers at next year’s exhibition and conference.

“To be recognised as the best trade show of our size for the fourth time is a testament to the ongoing hard work of our team to keep AOG fresh and innovative within a rapidly evolving industry,” he said.

One of 16 award categories presented on the night, the Best Trade Show category was judged on a number of criteria, including marketing campaign, visitor and exhibitor evaluation, and results to budget.

In accepting the award, Mr Hare also acknowledged the support of the Federal Government’s Department of Industry, the Western Australian Department of Commerce, the City of Perth and the AOG conference committee particularly the Society of Underwater Technology, Subsea UK and Subsea Energy Australia.

Acquired by the recently rebranded Diversified Communications Australia, formerly Diversified Exhibitions, in 2007, AOG has become Australia’s largest oil and gas event drawing more than 500 exhibitors from across 20 countries and the only exhibition of its kind to attract over 15,000 attendees.

The award follows wins in the same category in 2009, 2010 and 2011 in addition to being named Best Australian Show in 2009.

Mr Hare said his team were now gearing up for an even bigger year in 2014 when AOG will return to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 19-21 February 2014, providing a unique opportunity for attendees to see what’s new and build business connections with industry leaders.
