US Foods, a food company and distributor based in Rosemont, Illinois, has agreed to acquire Glover Wholesale, a leading foodservice distributor based in Americus, Georgia, for an undisclosed amount.
Glover Wholesale serves nearly 2,500 customers throughout Georgia, eastern Alabama and northern Florida, and generates more than $90m in annual sales.
US Foods south region president Keith Campbell said the acquisition will enable the company to introduce US Foods' brand, food culture and products to new customers, and expand its coverage throughout the Southeast.
Glover Wholesale Company President and CEO David Harris will join US Foods as the director, business development, in central Georgia.
The transaction is expected to close in early October 2012.
US Foods offers more than 350,000 food products to independent and multi-unit restaurants, healthcare and hospitality entities, government and educational institutions, among others.
