The Global PV Industry Is Experiencing "Cold Current" Now

The global PV industry is experiencing “cold current” now, the domestic consumer demand for PV products may help a number of PV enterprises in China coping with crises. During the “2012 China Symposium for PV Module and PV Power Station”, experts attended the symposium pointed out that expansion of domestic market demand is the preferred choice for Chinese PV industry development. The symposium is hosted by global leading renewable energy service provider, Solarpraxi and TUV, the famous testing and certification institution. According to statistics, capacity of global PV industry is 60GW last year while total installation amount is only 29 GW. Annual capacity of Chinese PV industry is around 40GW while installation amount of domestic market is 21 GW. Excess production capacity and excessive dependence on foreign markets is the direct cause of struggling for domestic PV enterprises. Source: GlassInChina
