Rotocontrol Merges with EMT International

German labeling machines manufacturer Rotocontrol has merged with US-based EMT International.

EMT is a manufacturer of custom and standardized finishing equipment and accessories for narrow and wider -web digital and conventional print. Rotocontrol manufactures label slitter/rewinder inspection and finishing machines.

EMT started in the 1930s as a small tool and die shop. It has since then developed into a company reputed for its craftsmanship and customised equipment.

For more than 70 years, the company has gained reputation as a manufacturer of equipment for converting, paper, document processing, packaging and printing industries.

As per the merger agreement, the design and manufacturing of Rotocontrol finishing machines will continue at its headquarters in Linau, Germany, while shared production with EMT International is expected to start in early third quarter of this year.

Sales and service of Rotocontrol machines will continue to be delivered from its German headquarters and through its network of agents.

The addition of EMT International sales and 24x7 service from EMT's Wisconsin headquarters is expected to enhance Rotocontrol’s support in the North American market.

Rotocontrol managing director Marco Aengenvoort said: “Combining forces with EMT International brings many advantages for both companies in synergizing sales, service, engineering and global reach.

“EMT International brings years of expertise in manufacturing advanced finishing equipment and accessories that incorporate lean manufacturing processes. With EMT International, Rotocontrol can increase capacity, reduce lead times, and broaden our reach in the North American market.”

EMT International president Scott Kettler said: "Rotocontrol has built world-wide recognition as a successful brand of finishing machines in the narrow web industry.

“They are known for engineering high-quality standard machines and highly customized finishing solutions to accommodate customer requirements, which parallels the sales philosophy of EMT International. Bringing together advanced finishing products, engineering strengths, market experience and the latest in advanced manufacturing will bring value to printers on a global scale."
