Like most games nowadays, Titanfall 2 will have a day one update when it launches this week, Respawn Entertainment has confirmed.
However, the futuristic shooter won’t be downloading for long on launch day, as the update weighs in at a measly 88MB on PS4 and Xbox One.
Respawn CEO Vince Zampella confirmed the patch size on Twtter in fittingly jokey fashion.
It’s nice to see a mainstream shooter released in the wild without a substantial update weighing it down. Most recently, Gears of War 4 launched with a 11GB update on day one, which was a massive nuisance for some.
With any luck, this is a positive sign that it’ll become far less common in the future.
Titanfall 2 is set to launch on October 28 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. We scored it an impressive 9/10 in our review.
“Titanfall 2’s campaign is one of the best surprises of the autumn 2016 season; smart, superbly-paced and packed with action, it tramples over the likes of Halo 5 and Killzone: Shadow Fall, making this the new sci-fi shooter for CoD: Infinite Warfare to beat. And while it’s the speed and action that sucks you in, you’ll remember it for its invention and unexpected heart.”
