Solar cell maker Neo Solar Power has set a goal for its subsidiary PV EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) contractor General Energy Solutions (GES) to achieve 95MWp in total installation for PV system or power-generating station projects in 2014, increasing by 53.23% on year, according to Neo Solar chairman Quincy Lin.
GES expects to obtain PV system or power-generating station projects with total installation capacity of 18MWp in Taiwan and 40Mwp in Japan, Lin said at a shareholders meeting on June 11.
GES in 2013 completed the first-phase construction for a power-generating station by installing a capacity of 12.5MWp in the US state of Indiana, and the project is expected to bring in revenues of US$3.4-4 million a year for a 9% return on investment from selling electricity, Lin said.
GES has begun the second-phase construction for the project, Lin noted.
Currently, Neo Solar has an annual production capacity of 2.2GWp for solar cells, with 1.3GWp for polycrystalline odels and 900MWp for monocrystalline ones, plus a PV module production capacity of 480MWp, Lin said.
