Sockeye Brewing and Crown Holdings' business unit CROWN Beverage Packaging North America has introduced Dagger Falls IPA beers in limited-edition pink color cans for cancer awareness.
The new 12 oz cans, which will be available in October 2013, includes laser-etched tabs that show the company's logo, and the 'Cans for Care' seal.
Through 'Cans for Care' seal, the company expects to convey its consumers that a part of money received from sale of cans will be donated to cancer organizations including Mountain State Tumor Institute of St. Luke's Hospital and St. Alfonso's Cancer Care.
Sockeye Brewing marketing assistant Dawn Bolen said the company wanted to raise awareness of breast cancer among people by selling pink color cans.
"Crown has been an incredibly helpful and supportive partner throughout the process; we couldn't have done this without them," Bolen added.
"There's already been such positive early feedback on the initiative from retailers and consumers that we are exploring how to repeat the collaboration next year."
Crown had provided Sockeye Brewing with counsel on the overall can design, color schemes and the proper ink weights required to achieve the vivid pink shade.
Built with the special-edition design, Dagger Falls IPA beer cans will be shipped to participating retailers by Stein Distributing.
