The Antigua Group, a marketer of lifestyle and golf apparel under the Antigua brand, has been named the official apparel licensee for the 2015 US Solheim Cup team.
According to an Antigua Group press release, the 2015 Solheim Cup will be held at Golf Club St. Leon-Rot in Germany from September 18-20, 2015.
Though the competition takes place in September, the process of designing the team uniforms began in late fall 2014 and the designs were finalised in January.
Over the course of the year long development process, Antigua, along with the US Solheim Team, created the team uniform concept.
This involves choosing fabrics and designs appropriate for the field of play during a particular time of year in a specific seasonal climate.
Antigua also developed samples and the will fit of each potential team member in advance of the final team selection, a process that involves two separate fitting and alteration sessions.
The final uniforms will consist of two separate apparel changes per day for the tournament rounds, as well as additional outfits for each day of the practice rounds.
“The process of designing the US Solheim Cup Team uniforms from beginning to end took more than a year,” Antigua Group added.
The apparel marketer had designed Ryder Cup uniforms for the American team in 1993, three times for the LPGA and the Solheim Cup Team in 2011, 2013 and now in 2015.

The Solheim Cup is a golf tournament for professional women golfers played by teams representing Europe and the US and has been named after golf club manufacturer, Karsten Solheim.
The inaugural Cup was held in 1990, and the event was staged in even number years until 2002, alternating years with the Ryder Cup. (AR)Fibre2fashion News Desk - India.
