The Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing concept is set to be revealed at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The DS3 Cabrio Racing features the familiar 151kW 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine also found in the rather excellent Citroen DS3 Racing hot-hatch, and Mini John Cooper Works.
Weighing 25kg more than its hatchback counterpart, the DS3 Cabrio Racing features matte grey “textured” paintwork, gloss black 19-inch wheels, black chrome trim and a DS-patterned canvas roof. The car’s brake calipers and wheel hubs are painted in Carmin red.
The Citroen’s interior sports watchstrap-style upholstery in a mix of leather and Alcantara, as well as further Carmin red accents for the dashtop, gearshift and seat stitching.
And don’t assume this isn’t a family car. Citroen has included a matching leather and Alcantara child-seat in the car’s rear.
The Citroen will also be shown at this year’s Frankfurt motor show, along with another hotly anticipated concept, Lamborghini’s Gallardo replacement.
The Citroen DS3 hot-hatch is sold in Australia, though the Racing version was ruled out due to the cost required to conform with Australian Design Rules.
