Japanese petrochemical major – Asahi Kasei intends to restart operations at its ACN plant in Kawasaki and Thailand in mid-November.
Both the ACN plants, in Kawasaki – Japan and Map Tha Put in Thailand are currently undergoing turnaround and will restart in mid-November, an Asahi Kasei official informed fibre2fashion.
He also said that two ACN lines in South Korea had resumed operations after a maintenance turnaround last weekend.
Altogether, Asahi Kasei operates six lines of ACN in Japan, South Korea and Thailand. One ACN line in Kawasaki – Japan has a capacity of 150,000 tons per year and two ACN lines in Mizushima have a capacity of 100,000 tons and 200,000 tons per year, respectively.
Two ACN lines in Ulsan - Korea have a capacity of 70,000 tons and 245,000 tons per annum, respectively and one line in Map Tha Put ACN line in Thailand has capacity of 200,000 tons per year.
He further informed that that a new ACN line with a capacity of 245,000 tons per annum being set up in Ulsan – South Korea will begin commercial production at the beginning of 2013.
