Color and additive supplier Americhem Inc. has added a new production line at its plant in Manchester, England. The new line, with capacity of 2, 000 metric tons annually, will make customized color and additive masterbatches for synthetic turf. Cuyahoga Falls-based Americhem also reorganized its manufacturing space and expanded into a warehouse immediately adjacent to the plant. The 50, 000-square-foot expansion nearly doubled the footprint of the plant. Americhem has been in an expansion phase in recent months. The company recently announced that on Oct. 1, the company will being manufacturing operations at a new 40-acre campus in Liberty, N. C. In addition, the company will begin operating a synthetic turf yarn pilot line at its Dalton, Ga., facility later this year. That line will allow for raw material testing of pigment palettes, stabilizers and additives, as well as conducting spin process studies, developing new formulas and doing customer trials.
