The store has been fitted out with Philips LEDs and the Dynalight control system.The installation is expected to make energy savings of 25-30 per cent across the store's car park,back of house and shop floor.
The approach to the Sheffied store is part of the company's'Plan A'initiative,which aims to make Marks&Spencer the world's most sustainable major retailer by 2015.
Ex Blast and Graze luminaires have been used to attract customers into the store and ambient lighting is provided by Maxos trunking with a mix of twin and single StyliD fixtures.The food chillers have incorporated warm white LED modules to ensure that the merchandise looks attractive.
Daylight harvesting is also being used by controlling the light fittings to maximise the use of daylight in the store.
