British Softwood Lumber Imports in 2012 Are Going to Be 3.4%

According to a forecast by the UK Timber Trade Federation, British softwood lumber imports in 2012 are going to be 3.4% lower than last year at 4.81m m³. As such, imports from Sweden will fall by 2% to 2.19m m³. A reduction of 13% is expected in deliveries from Latvia to 647, 000 m³ and imports from Finland are predicted to fall by 1% below last year’s figure to 632, 000 m³. Imports from Germany are forecast to drop by 26% to 352, 000 m³. TTF is expecting deliveries from Ireland to fall by 16% to 308.000 m³. British sawmills will probably step up their softwood lumber output by 3% to 3.14m m³. Source: euwid-wood-products
