Germany-based car maker, BMW has revealed that it may consider the production of Mini small car brand in India.
Before working on the production plan in India, the company expects to establish market for its small car in the country.
BMW has reported a sale of 280 Mini cars by November 2012 in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad, and expects to sale 300 units by the end of the year, reported smetimes.in.
BMW Group India president Philipp von Sahr said: "We will not exclude MINI production facility in India but at the moment it is 100 percent imported car and we are 100 percent concentrated on learning how the brand is accepted."
Sahr also said that various parts of Mini are being sourced from India.
"India is really an important supplier market for BMW Group, especially for MINI," Sahr added.
The company has launched Mini, Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S in India which are available with six-speed automatic transmission and in petrol variants.
