Daimler’s microcar division Smart is planning to unveil the new electrically driven Forstars concept sports utility coupé (SUC) at the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show in France to be held during late September.
The new two seated electric concept will be powered by a magneto-electric motor which delivers an output of 60kW and a torque of about 135Nm.
According to the carmaker, the new SUC concept offers a top speed of 130km/h, with its lithium-ion battery having a capacity of 17.6 kWh.
Developed as part of a broader expansion of Smart, Daimler is also planning to launch an electric-powered bicycle, an e-scooter and a four-seated car.
Daimler aims to sell nearly 10,000 Forstars SUCs per year or 10% of all Smart sales.
