London's Hottest New Hotel Has Used a Selection of Colourful Hainsworth Broadcloth

London’s hottest new hotel has used a selection of colourful Hainsworth broadcloth to help give its interiors a contemporary look and feel.

In the midst of Soho and moments from Mayfair, Ham Yard Hotel offers 91 individually designed bedrooms and suites.

Owned by London’s premier boutique hotel operators, Firmdale Hotels PLC, the striking interiors have been put together by Kit Kemp in her award-winning modern British style.

Hainsworth fabrics have been dramatically showcased in the hotel’s original Fifties bowling alley where wing chairs were covered in brightly coloured Hainsworth wools. Hainsworth’s electric blue wool was also used to line the walls of the large state-of-the-art theatre.

Julie Greenough, spokesperson for Yorkshire based Hainsworth, says: “We were delighted to supply this exciting new hotel with our woollen fabrics and we love the way Kit Kemp has used them to such a dramatic effect.”

Hainsworth’s Broadcloth is a tightly woven and felted woollen base cloth regarded for its lustrous quality and sheen. It comes in a variety of striking colours including Orange, Cherry, Gold, Paprika, Royal Blue, Black and Royal Navy – and is the widest woollen faced fabric on the market.

Hainsworth is one of Britain’s oldest textile mills and recently launched a marketing campaign positioning itself as the “fabric of a nation”.

The company has a distinguished history. It was awarded a Royal Warrant in 2004 for its furnishing fabrics for Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.

The bold new campaign comes amid growing interest among interior designers in Britain and overseas for its upholsteries, drapes and wall coverings.
