Posco Says That It Has Initiated Steel Powder Plant Project in Gwangyang

 

Korean steel giant Posco said that it has initiated steel powder plant project in Gwangyang.

The steel powder plant is expected to help reduce the country’s heavy rely on imports once the facility is put into operation next year.

It’s learned that the designed annual capacity of the new plant is at 30,000 tons and the Korean steel giant hopes to start production by June, 2014.

According to statistics, Korea’s demand for steel powders is at around 70,000 tons per year, mostly imported from the US, Sweden and Canada.
