Transformational medical technology provider GE Healthcare has entered into an agreement with Core Sound Imaging for a cloud based ultrasound PACS and reporting solution.
Under the agreement, GE's Ultrasound business will distribute Core Sound Imaging's Studycast to GE's ultrasound customers.
The Studycast solution, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, provides access to medical images and its SmartWorksheet reports physicians through a web-browser, which helps in efficiently completing the interpretation.
GE Healthcare ultrasound IT general manager Roland Rott said the customers have asked the company to provide them with a solution that takes advantage of current and developing technologies.
"Now, along with Core Sound Imaging, we have extended our IT product portfolio for ultrasound labs with an innovative web based solution, allowing our customers to select the technology which best fits their workflow, reporting, archiving, and budget requirements," Rott added.
Core Sound Imaging president Mark Smith said, "We recognized GE's leadership, technical innovation, and broad customer base in the ultrasound imaging market which is why we are excited to team with GE to deliver the Studycast platform to medical professionals looking for a cost effective way of utilizing technology to help decrease costs and enhance patient care."
