Pyramid tea bags have taken the premium tea world by storm,so contract packaging company Packmasters International has launched a new service to enable brand owners to join the movement.
In Australia, demand for premium tea is on the rise, and the pyramid tea bag is moving into the mainstream with the larger brands, including Lipton and Twinings, rolling out new premium lines to tap into the trend.Packmasters has begun using the same high-end pyramid tea bag packaging equipment popularised by the major manufacturers.Packmasters owner Steve Seagram believes that Packmasters will remain the sole contract packer for those who want to enter the premium pyramid tea bag market in the immediate future. After searching for the best equipment for pyramid tea bags globally,Seagram decided on the Japanese-branded Fuso triangular pyramid tea bag forming machine, which makes both pyramid and rectangular teabag shapes.Fuso can also create the tea bag tags in accordance with each brand owner's requirements. The machine can fill and seal fine tea leaves, mint leaves, large tea leaves or blended fruit tea with fine accuracy, and the material used for the tea bags can be made from silk,non-woven fabric nylon mesh or a biodegradable filter cloth supplied by Fuso."By acquiring this equipment,we have opened the pyramid tea bag market for small, medium and large companies that want to get into this space,"Seagram says.
