Aeon Renewable Energy Solution, a solar energy venture of India’s Madurai Appu restaurant chain, today announced it plans to build a 25MW solar power plant in Tamil Nadu with China’s Yingli Solar as its technical partner.
The company is also partnering with Anna University as part of its industry-academia initiatives.
Aeon Renewable Energy says it will enter the domestic household market through rooftop installations, and then set up its solar power plant in Tamil Nadu, with an investment of INR250 Crores in a phased manner.
The company will operate through a 150-distributor network across South India and says it plans to recruit about 300 engineers to strengthen its installation and after-sales service support.
After concentrating in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry markets, Aeon Renewable Energy says it will expand its footprint across South India, adding up to 50MW solar generating capacity.
