Fujifilm Has Announced US Launch of New Wireless Cesium Iodide Flat Panel Detector

Fujifilm Medical Systems has announced US launch of the wireless FDR D-EVO 24x30cm Cesium Iodide flat panel detector, designed to accommodate neonatal, pediatric and orthopedic imaging.

The FDR D-EVO flat panel detector combines the dose efficiency benefits of the company's patented Irradiation Side Sampling (ISS) technology with image performance of Cesium Iodide.

The ISS technology is designed to improve detective quantum efficiency (DQE) by reducing the distance for light signals to reach the sensing electronics.

The company said in addition to diagnostic benefits, the new detector provides the same ease-of-use as the entire FDR D-EVO lineup, providing extended versatility and renewed ease of positioning for the most common types of exams.

Fujifilm digital radiography systems senior marketing and product development manager Rob Fabrizio said the new 24x30 FDR D-EVO is the perfect addition for busy imaging departments where exams requiring a small field of view, like neonatal incubator trays, extremity and skull exams take place daily.

"The size of the new 24x30 FDR D-EVO detector offers the versatility and maneuverability that every technologist has been hoping for," Fabrizio added.
