an Elite Group of Technical Students Have Been Awarded Prizes in Annual Software Contest

62,000 students graduate from the universities and technical schools in Cluj, Romania, each year. A handful have just been awarded prizes by an American company, Imprezzio, which provides software solutions to tough business challenges.

An elite group of technical students in Cluj, Romania, the cyber-city of Eastern Europe, have been awarded prizes in the fourth annual software contest sponsored by Imprezzio Inc., a software solution provider out of Spokane, Washington.

Imprezzio leaders Russell Page (President), Kelly Birr (CIO) and Neil Taylor (Chief Architect) flew to Cluj from Spokane this November and served on the panel of judges along with Imprezzio Global's General Manager Tudor Ciuleanu and Professor Mircea Dabacan from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.

Imprezzio Global Solution Architect Nazmi Savga opened the contest with a presentation on "Designing and Optimizing Software Using Microsoft Tools."

Alin Turcu won First Prize with the "Mobile Driving Assistance System", a complex project with a great approach to voice recognition and image processing. The team of Alexandru Cosma and Bogdan Sala took Second Prize with their project "Hitch" (HitchHiker). Honorary mentions went to Ionut Tamas and Marcel Antal; Mircea Muresan and Cristina Nicolae.

Previous software contests have produced brain agility games, robots, tracking systems, music software, collaborate editing, fingerprint matching, a micro-blogging platform, and an object-oriented game engine in Turbo Pascal.

Imprezzio Global is the European subsidiary of Imprezzio, Inc., a U.S.-based software solution provider with offices in North America and Canada. Imprezzio has deep domain expertise in the parking and insurance verticals and 15 years' experience in increasing business productivity through technology.

Imprezzio Global contest winners are sometimes awarded internships at the company, and Imprezzio is always looking for top talent, according to co-founder Dave Talarico.
