Brazil Exported Cotton Worth US$ 41.2 Million During The Month of January 2014

The Latin American country of Brazil exported cotton worth US$ 41.2 million during the month of January 2014, as per the latest data released by the National Association of Cotton Exporters (ANEA).

According to the Brazilian Exports of Cotton January 2014 data of ANEA, the country exported around 21,449 tons of cotton amounting to $41.2 million during the month of January.

Country-wise, Indonesia was the main destination for exports of Brazilian cotton during the January month, with the country exporting around 8,126 tons of cotton worth $15.3 million. South Korea ranked second with Brazil exporting 5,742 tons of cotton totaling $11 million.

During January, Brazil exported 1,490 tons of cotton amounting to $2.9 million to Malaysia, followed by 1,189 tons of cotton totaling $2.3 million to Taiwan, 1,075 tons of cotton worth $2.1 million to Thailand and 706 tons of cotton worth $1.3 million to Vietnam.

As per the ANEA data, the state of Sao Paolo was the highest exporter of cotton during the month of January, exporting 17,104 tons of cotton amounting to $32.9 million. The state of Parana ranked second with exports of 3,567 tons of cotton totaling $6.8 million during the month.

Last year, the country exported 572,913 tons of cotton amounting to US$ 1.1 billion, according to data released by ANEA.
