Birst Inc., the leading provider of agile business analytics, today announced that True Textiles has deployed Birst's affordable analytics solution to replace its existing, on-premise application. With information and analysis provided by Birst, True Textiles is gaining additional insight into its sales results and improving production quality, time, and efficiency.
After nearly a decade of use, True Textiles, the world's leading manufacturer of proprietary and open-line commercial textiles, has replaced its existing, on-premise analytics application with Birst's enterprise-class, business intelligence (BI) solution. While the on-premise solution helped to combine the organization's disparate data sources, it was difficult to use, had limited functionality, and its costly licensing model made expansion of the deployment prohibitively expensive.
"In our search for a new business intelligence solution, we considered a number of options, including PivotLink and QlikView, and discovered that Birst offered the most extensive and complete functionality, at the lowest cost," said Rick Cowan, CIO, True Textiles. "Birst's affordability is making it possible for us to deploy advanced analytics wherever they're needed so that our users can gain immediate business insight that leads to more informed, faster decisions."
Using Birst, True Textiles is gaining a greater understanding of its sales results through analysis of sales trends and snapshots of sales performance week-over-week and year-over-year. Customer service metrics regarding order history, on-time performance, and order delays are helping the organization to further enhance customer satisfaction, as is an ongoing rollout of Birst for the iPad that is providing sales representatives with access to sales and order information while on the road and in customer meetings.
Leveraging information and analysis provided by Birst, True Textiles is also improving product management. With access to sales, order, and inventory analytics employees are spending significantly less time managing products throughout their life cycles. Other Birst reports are allowing True Textiles to improve production quality, time, and efficiency by identifying products, machines, and work orders associated with flawed materials. Additionally, Birst's tracking of production output is enabling the organization to quickly gauge the effectiveness of new production practices.
"Birst is combining affordability with easily accessible, agile business analytics that quickly answer questions as they arise," said Brad Peters, CEO of Birst. "It's those answers that enable organizations to better understand their business—and take decisive action to improve results."
