Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT), an insurance and employee benefits related advice provider, has acquired ForVision Risk Services, strengthening its services offering in the Taiwanese market, primarily in the marine, hi-technology, and corporate sectors.
ForVision Risk Services offers insurance, reinsurance, and risk management services for companies with local and international operations.
Post-transaction, the acquired entity will be integrated with JLT's existing operations in Taiwan, subsequently strengthening and diversifying its presence in the country.
The acquisition of ForVision Risk Servicesis part of JLT's strategy to establish its specialty capabilities and enhance international reach.
Current ForVision CEO Sunny Chen has been named as the new CEO of integrated operation, while JLT Taiwan current managing director Muhshi Harn will take the role of chairman.
JLT Asia CEO Duncan Howorth said, "Combined with JLT Taiwan's existing No 1 position in the aviation market, this merger positions JLT for broad-based growth in this market going forward."
Earlier this year, Jardine Lloyd Thompson purchased Malaysian insurance brokerage firm Insfield Insurance Brokers, which maintains strong presence in the marine, energy, media, manufacturing, financial lines, and employee benefits sectors.
It also bought PT GESA Assistance (GESA) and PT Global Asistensi Manajemen Indonesia (GAMI), two employee benefits and third party administration service providers in Indonesia.
JLT employs more than 8,300 staff globally and through the JLT International Network provides services in over 135 countries.
