Evolution of Vietnamese Costumes Were Showcased by Exhibition

An exhibition of Vietnamese traditional costumes, depicted through a collection of photos, artifacts and documents is going on in the capital city of Ha Noi.

The exhibition displays various pictures of traditional costumes during the Ly and Nguyen dynasty periods, from 1009 to 1945, in Vietnam.
 
The ongoing exhibition at the Manzi Art Space in Ha Noi, showcases illustrations from the book Ngan Nam Ao Mu (a study of costumes for 1000 years) written by Vietnamese researcher Tran Quang Duc.
 
The pictures selected from the book depict the traditional Vietnamese costumes of diverse levels of society during the Ly and Nguyen dynasty periods.
 
The exhibition which runs till September 10, 2013, also displays old paintings of costumes collected by the researcher as well as two traditional costumes from the 16th century.
 
The book released in May, 2013, provides a detailed outlook on how Vietnamese people dressed in the past and the evolution of the traditional costume in the country.
