China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (March 18-24) the average steel price in China decreased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous week.
In particular, in the given week prices of 12 mm diameter rebar, 80 mm x 43 mm x 5 mm channel steel and 50 mm x 50 mm x 5 mm equal angle steel decreased by 0.4 percent, 0.3 percent and 0.3 percent, all week on week.
In the week ending March 24, average prices of minerals in China witnessed a decrease of 2.4 percent week on week. Furthermore, the average prices of iron ore, tin ore and copper ore declined by 2.7 percent, 2.1 percent and 1.6 percent respectively, while the prices of lead ore and zinc ore decreased by 0.8 percent and 0.3 percent, all compared to the previous week.
Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were down 0.4 percent. The average prices of crude oil and raw coal decreased by one percent and 0.3 percent respectively, while the price of coke maintained unchanged, all on week-on-week basis.
