Flexible packaging provider SteriPack has announced the launch of two new medical pouches called PeelVent and TearVent.
The new pouches have been designed to replace standard chevron peel and linear tear pouches with film to film and breathable vents.
According to the company, the pouches are made with breathable materials such as paper or Tyvek, and have better seal strengths and resolution printing, helpful in lowering overall packaging cost.
Various sized breathable vents of new pouches can be positioned at optimum locations to insure airflow allows for ETO sterilization and outgassing, said the company.
The PeelVent and TearVent pouches can also be used for irradiation sterilization where the vent removes the need for altitude package testing and eliminates the associated issues that may arise due to vacuum packaging regular film to film pouches.
