In 2013 Ukrainian Metallurgical Enterprises Saw Their Aggregate Losses Decline by 22%

The Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom has announced that in 2013 Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises saw their aggregate losses decline by 22 percent year on year,falling from UAH 15.7 billion in 2012 to UAH 12.2 billion($1.22 billion),despite the decline in the metallurgical enterprises'overall net income by 7.8 percent year on year to UAH 141.3 billion($14.1 billion),and the decrease in the enterprises'prices of rolled metal by 7.7 percent year on year.

Officially,only two Ukrainian steelmakers have reported their financial performances for the given year-Azovstal and Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol.Both are controlled by Ukrainian mining and steel producing group Metinvest.
