Beijing-based Chinese pipe producer Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes Co. has announced that it has won a tender to supply ductile iron pipes to be used in water pipelines within the scope of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project in Handan, Xingtai, Shijiazhuang and Baoding, with the total value of the supply amounting to RMB 1.365 billion ($220 million).
The water pipelines in question will cover a total length of 735 km, while Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes is expected to start supplying the products in October this year. The value of the contract is equivalent to 16 percent of the company's total sales revenue in 2012, and so the supplies will make a significant contribution to the company's operational performance.
