US-based dairy products manufacturer Dean Foods has introduced a new packaging for its Sour Cream and Cottage Cheese brands.
The packaging is said to enable the company address a number of key trade issues. Its structure design leads to less negative space between packages; in the case, on the truck as well as on the shelf.
Dean Foods group vice president Rob Hollandsworth said with the curved bottom profile of the packages consumers can easily scoop up every last bit of the product.
"All in all, we are delivering a far more environmentally-responsible packaging solution, and one that always has the primary display panel neatly facing the consumer versus the old round-style packages which often ended up spun in different directions," Hollandsworth added.
The company's new packages are said to be convenient for scooping up the product with a spoon, a chip, a vegetable, a cracker, or other ways.
According to Dean Foods, the new packaging provides consumers with stackability benefit while addressing environmental concerns. The recyclable packaging line also conforms to almost all sustainability programs.
