Plate-making systems supplier DuPont Packaging Graphics has installed a third DuPont Cyrel DigiFlow flexographic printing system at the US-based flexible packaging solutions provider ALC Group.
The flat top dot, UV main exposure flexo system expands the capabilities of digital Cyrel solvent plates to offer better print quality and productivity. It has been designed to meet the demand for better ink transfer and increased color saturation.
The DigiFlow modification can be used as a simple modification to existing DuPont Cyrel exposure units and optimizes the advantages associated with solid screening programs such as HD Flexo Microcell and can.
According to DuPont, the system has smaller potential environmental footprint and delivers improved solid ink density and 1:1 image reproduction, without any additional plate making steps.
The packaging company is also experimenting with combining Cyrel DigiFlow and Microcell screening with the DuPont engineered surface Cyrel DSP and DFP Performance Plates.
